Hub&Hack, presented by Thate Pan Hub Enterprises, is a 5-day hackathon that aims to empower the creativity and passion of the next generation while helping them foster the necessary skills required to take a step into the technology field.
Hub&Hack, is an event designed for Myanmar children to demonstrate their technical skills, primarily in programming, to accomplish the objectives of the competition theme that is related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

What is Hub&Hack?
“Hub&Hack”, presented by Thate Pan Hub and Thate Pan Institute, is a 5-day ideation challenge which aims to support young learners across Myanmar to empower their creativity and passion, and to foster the necessary skills required to take a step into the technology field.
What exactly do I have to do if I participate in Hub&Hack?
You will have to innovate ideas and develop a software solution whose goal is to encounter the challenges and meet objectives of a given theme.
Who can apply? How can I apply?
Hackers from all backgrounds, genders and geographics are welcome. You can fill out the registration form linked on the website. Only one of your team members needs to register.
Do I need a team? How do teams work?
Teams may have 3-5 people and 1 team mentor. We will not accept the participants individually this year.
What programming language is allowed to use in Hub&Hack?
You can use any technology or language you prefer. Block or text based. We recommend Scratch and MIT app inventor for block programming, Python, HTML, CSS and Javascript for text programming.
Do I need to know how to code?
You need to have basic prior knowledge of Computer Science and the tools you are going to use.
When will I find out if my team has been selected to participate after registration?
This year, we will select 15 groups per level among registered teams. We will email to the selected teams on April 18th.
Are there training sessions?
Yes. Hub&Hack will provide training in Scratch, Python and Web development. Trainings are only for revising the languages and tools and giving some good tips and tricks.
Can I start my project before the event?
No. In the interest of fairness, teams should not be working on their projects before Hub&Hack competition begins and we do not allow participants to work on projects that they have already done before.
Are there any commitment fees for participation?
Yes. There will be a commitment fee for each selected team after the screening process and each team will require 20,000 MMK for commitment fees. After the competition, every team that follows the Refund Policy will get its commitment fees back.
What are theme and problem statements for Hub&Hack 2023?
This year's theme is Smart Education and problem statements will be announced on the event day.
